The ZEU-X-NC Zeus was an 80 ton Inner Sphere custom assault mech originally specific to Nueva Castile. It has now been removed from the game.
The Zeus X-TAM was put into research and development by orders of Duke Maximus De'Tamar, after spending time on the Clan Front, and facing down a new threat, the Grey Wolf. Intelligence showed that the Grey Wolf, and an assault mech the Brimstone, were a deadly threat, that allowed Green Mechwarriors to fight with the skill of Veteran skill. Duke De'Tamar's request for a newly designed battlemech was sent back well in advance of his return to the Dutchy of Tamarind, to begin development. Research into ECM and Stealth Technologies, and into advanced weaponry began with the task in mind, to sway the power back to the side of the Inner Sphere, and back into House Marik's favor. After years of research and development started, the first production test models were first field tested, and the final bugs were worked out, much to the pleasure of Maximus De'Tamar's approval. The mech is powered with a standard Pitban 320 Fusion Engine, to enhance survivability of the mech incase if the mech lost a torso, something that plagued other field mechs on the Clan Front. Armed with a Myrdon Model RC Rotary Autocannon 5, two Shigunga Medium Range Missile Racks as primary weapons, and three Diverse Optics Medium Pulse Lasers for close range encounters. With ample ammo to last on the battlefield, and enough firepower to shred most mechs it faces in short order, the Zeus X-TAM is projected to be a very efficient mech not only on the Clan Front, but on the Home Front versus more domestic enemies as they may appear.

This 'mech is built around the Stealth Armor system. During its debut, stealth armor was not coded into the game. Due to its lack of large knockout weapons, it was largely ignored, and the few that went into service usually came back in many small pieces. Nonetheless, this Zeus variant mounts a lot of short-range firepower, even if it lacks large weapons like an AC20.
