[edit] Update text
- Don’t forget to vote for us at mpogd.com free daychanges if were in the top 5 !
- The USA server move will take place from the 19th of March – 24th of March and there will be down time during this period, as to the exact amount of downtime, that depends on how smoothly the migration goes. Hopefully its less than the dates above.
- During this downtime, there will be no progression of the game clock, no daychanges, no wars, no nothing, the game will essentially be “paused”
- Custom Mechs, as many of you are aware we removed the ability to create new custom mechs some months ago, their removal has not proceeded as fast as I would like so im going to begin a buy back process, at any stage players can submit a help ticket along with their unit id’s, blueprints or uncommed mechs (plus any maint mods or head mods you have on units), and I will credit them with ipoints, these ipoints can of course buy new mechs, train them, etc etc.
- I will only do this once per empire, so no submitting tickets to do one at a time.
- Also any special mechs i.e. in the top 50 mechwarriors will have their stats transferred over, the rest will lose their stats.
- This process will take time, and is totally player based, ideally I would like to have this completed by the 15th of march (2 weeks away)
- If players do not open tickets and submit their units for credit at the end of this period I will remove them and give them minimal compensation i.e NONE.
- This update revolves around fixing bugs also a huge update to the combat code.
- Firstly when you enter a battle now you will see the terrain, but no units, you can see units once the phase ticks over to the next fire or move. This gives you the ability to at least see the map.
- Secondly Church has been working very hard on speeding up some parts of combat and has come up with some neat new movement code, I will let you see it to believe how fast it is.
- We have also fixed the issue of moving over units and losing their image, this is now solved.
- Also the minimum game requirements have been reduced we have reduced enormously the amount of memory needed to display the combat map.
- As this change to the game is so significant I would expect some teething troubles we have done a lot of testing on this, but any bugs you have/see then please let us know.
Cheers
