The Timber Wolf (MC), also known as a Mad Cat, is a popular front line combat mech created by the Clans. Perhaps it is best known for its iconic physical design.

The Timber Wolf is, rightly so, a fearsome battle mech built around 12 tons of armor, 5/8 movement, 30 heat sinks and large amount of various heavy weaponry for all ranges.

There are 11 variants of the Timber Wolf in Invasion 3042. Ten of the eleven currently existing variants are 75 ton Clan heavy mechs. The last is a 90 ton Clan assault mech, also classified as a Mad Cat mk II.

The Timber Wolf MC is also known as the Timber Wolf-Primary MC-P. This variant packs massive long range firepower with two (C) ER Large Lasers and two (C) LRM 20 racks. Thirty four heat sinks allowi it to to unleash all four of these weapons with minimal heat buildup. With additionaly various short range weaponry, 12 tons of ferro-fibrous armor, CASE and 5/8 movement (but no jump jets), this mech is something any enemy should be weary of facing on the field of battle.

This variant is the only Timber Wolf to use the Mad Cat mk II and be classified as an assault mech. It boasts excellent long range weaponry (two (C) Gauss Rifles and two (C) LRM 10 racks), four (C) ER Medium Lasers, 28 heat sinks, 13 tons of ferro-fibrous armor, CASE and 4/6/3 movement.
