The Silver Wolf (SW-1) is a 30 ton clan custom light mech originally specific to Clan Wolf.

Originally designed as a replacement training mech for the up and coming sibkos, the Silver Wolf was upgraded to combat status after a review of its performance data by the Wolf Clan Council. After thorough analysis of actual combat data, several revisions were made to the Silver Wolf to maximize its performance. Its engine was swapped out with a Cryotech 270 Rating Extra Light Engine, while the paired (C) ER Medium Lasers were replaced by a single Extended Range Large Laser. The Silver Wolf’s battle rating practically tripled overnight, and the mech was immediately moved to the Wolf/Cult front. Afterwards, several bondsmen complained that fighting the Silver Wolf was like trying to shoot a wil `o` the wisp while being pin pricked to death.

This 'mech is another Wolf custom that transformed during the update to BV2.0. Its original configuration carried two ER-Medium Lasers. This setup was not popular with the Wolves, and many of these early Silver Wolves often were shot to pieces while trying to attack their enemy. Instead, the two medium lasers were stripped out for a single ER-Large Laser mounted in the head. This created one of the most maneuverable sniper 'mech's ever to grace Invasion3042 - despite the fact it only carried a single weapon, it was capable of bringing down assault 'mechs through repeated strikes.
The Silver Wolf's main strength is its jumping capability, making it extremely difficult to catch at shorter ranges, and almost impossible to chase through rough terrain. Since it a low BV 'mech, many Silver Wolves that saw combat had incredible gunners piloting them. A 2-gun Silver Wolf was only around 1800 BV, making it a very efficient sniper compared to the Kraken Guard's Lancer, if only mounting half the firepower.
