Quick Start Guide
From Invasion3042 Wiki
This is meant only as a very rough guide for players trying to figure out the ibs interface. While a little reading and poking around will yield these answers, this basic information should help jumpstart a truly green player.

[edit] Basics
- Dropdowns are finicky, always select your sector or zone as when you move between tabs, the tabs reset but the dropdowns still look like they have something selected...they don't.
- Until you have at least 5000 population do not bother with anything but building up your RP (Research Points) and BP (Building Points).
- *Getting to 5000 takes very little time if you Donate $20 to help you start out.
- Read the Player's Guide, Beginner's Guide and check out the New Player References.
[edit] Get Started
Step by step guide to building your first structures. Starting strategies vary greatly, but the best plan for your first few buildings:
- One each of Production, Research, Housing.
- Take note of how the numbers work as you shift them around.
- Make sure keep enough population, enough jobs, and enough food
- 1 farmer per every 10-12 population
- Research Basic Science and Intermediate or Advanced Housing ASAP.
- Good starting target is between 1-2 RP generation for every 10 BP generation
- RP
- Research Points (used to unlock other techs and buildings)
- BP
- Building Points (used to build things)
- Once you have a little RP Trickling in (20-50), its a good time start focusing on generating some BP.
- Once you are around 50-100 RP and 500-1000 BP per iDay, you should have a healthy understanding of the basic mechanics, and have a great foundation for future development.
[edit] Check Population Assignments
- Click on the "Infrastructure" Tab.
- *making sure to select the only available options in the "Sector" and "Zone" dropdowns, as mentioned above.
- Notice the Table on the left:
- *there are 10 iDays in a real day
Population - Total Commerce - 1 = 18 iCash/iDay - Used for EVERYTHING Production - 1 = 1 BP/iDay - Constructing Buildings and Production Research - 1 = 1 RP/iDay - Unlocking Tech and Creating Blueprints Repair - 1 = 1 PP/iDay - Fixing Broken Mechs and Parts Training - 1 = 1 TP/iDay - Improving Unit Skill Farmers - 1 ≈ 12 Food/iDay - each 1 pop consumes 1 Food/iDay Miners - 1 = 1 MP/iDay - MP are traded for Minerals
- Max Assignment shows the maximum number of workers assignable to that job
- People Assigned shows, and allows you to change, the current number assigned
- Clicking Autocheck will show you the total currently assigned (this cannot be more than your current "Population")
[edit] Research your Buildings
- Click the "Research" Tab
- Select "Empire Specific" in the Category dropdown
- Select the LEVEL you wish to research
- Start at Level 1 if you didn't donate
- Start at Level 3 if you did.
- Pay RP first for each research level, by clicking "Research This Theory"
- You may then research items of that level.
- You must pay for Theories lvl 1 and 2 to get access to lvl 3.
- Select the ITEM you wish to research.
- This is also a good way to gather some info about available structures,
- Once you have the item selected, research it by clicking "Research This Item"
[edit] Build some Buildings
- Click the "Buildings" Tab
- *dropdowns again (and always)
- Click the Building you want to build, and click "Build" on the bottom left.
- Never try to build more than 25 at once. You pay for the quantity entered, but only get 25.
[edit] Return to Assign Workers
- Go back to the "Infrastructure" Tab
- Take note in the change in Population and Max Assignable
- Make the necessary changes in assignments.
- Click Save
