The Nexus (NXS1-A) is a 25 ton Inner Sphere light mech.

[edit] Blurb

The Nexus is a fast mover that can reach a target, deliver a solid punch and get out quickly. Its speed and its highly effective McArthur anti-missile system makes it difficult to hit, and its Rawlings 55 Jump Jets make it difficult to pursue. An impressive combination of medium- and short-range energy weapons allows for devastating volleys in most combat situations. Blankenburg Technologies' shoulder-mounted medium laser provides the punches at a distance, and Intek's efficient shoulder-mounted small lasers give the Nexus excellent firepower in tight situations. The 'Mech's main slugging power, however, comes from Blankenburg Technologies' excellent medium pulse lasers that have replaced the Jackrabbit's hand actuators.

[edit] Description

The Nexus is designed to get into combat quickly, and harry enemies, hopefully moving fast enough to avoid incoming fire as its armour is paper-thin. While it packs a good punch for a small mech, and the anti-missile system is helpful in defence, having its weapons in the arms is a weakness, although it does allow for all-round fire.

Due to a manufacturing error, some Nexi have the Mech ID 263 rather than 1.

[edit] Combat record

8 Nexi have seen service, with 0 surviving. The design has been responsible for 0 kills (0 BV).
