From Invasion3042 Wiki
The Minotaur (MIN-07) is a 95 ton custom Inner Sphere assault mech originally specific to the Taurian Concordat.
Blurb
Minotaur Originally designed in 2874, the Cohort, as it was initally designiated, was submitted to the Star League army as a low cost jump-capable assault mech to complement the Starslayer. The Cohort featured a standard fusion engine with Two General Motors Nova-5 Ultra AC/5s as primary weapons and Six Defiance P5M Medium Pulse Lasers for secondary weapons. However the design was rejected as too costly and filed away for later use. Around 3020 the design was rediscovered by a Taurian Concordant deep periphery trader who attempted to market it as a Solaris dueling mech, mounting a hatchet and a Concordant produced light fusion engine with some technical help from the military who were initally interested in the old design. But when the Solaris market fell flat in 3031 the mech prototype was purchased by the Taurian military when it proved to be easily upgraded using Concordant technology. The redesigned mech, now designated the Minotaur, featured a MydronTornado Rotary AC/5 as its main Gun. The original suite of 6 medium pulse lasers were replaced with Taurian Starflash Medium Pulse Lasers now linked to a Series 5 Targeting Computer enabling the mech to target while jumping. The hatchet was retained as the mech was planned to operate in rough terrain and in cities. The Minotaur ultimately serves as a dangerous short ranged specialist'mech. Urban warfare and point defense missions are the primeterritory of this fearsome machine.
Description
The Minotaur was originally designed as a close-range assault platform. Though its configuration changed with the advent of BV2.0 in Invasion3042, its purpose largely remained the same. These 'mechs are a sight to behold charging into the enemy, with its Heavy Gauss Rifle and Medium Pulse Lasers blasting holes in opposing units' armor, then tearing up the delicate internals. As a result of their direct tactical use, few of these 'mechs end up surviving to see another day, but they certainly ensure enemy 'mechs suffer the same fate.
Combat record
61 Minotaurs have seen service, with 8 surviving. The design has been responsible for 82 kills (160,794 BV).
