The Grand Kuraltai (KG-GK) is a clan custom 100 ton assault mech originally specific to the Kraken Guard.
The Grand Kuraltai is a larger version of the Kuraltai mech slated for garrison duty to protect vital installations or to bolster front-line units in combat. Designed to punish opponents at range, it possesses a pair of Gauss rifles, a pair of torso-mounted large pulse lasers, and a head-mounted ER large laser. Its ranged weapons, along with targeting computer and superior tracking system, allow it to shoot both enemy mechs and aerospace fighters with ease.

The Grand Kuraltai is a fairly unloved mech, with very few being commissioned. It is without doubt a good mech, but requiring ammunition makes it somewhat of an oddity amongst other Kraken Guard units such as the ovKhan. Deviating from their extreme-range sniper tactics, the Grand Kuraltai appears to be built more for large battles, where the low armor for a 100 ton 'mech is not as apparant as a flaw. A Grand Kuraltai can punish opposing units that ignore it with its incredible firepower at range 20. Once the enemy notices this 'mech though, it does not take long for it to become damaged beyond combat functionality. It is also very vulnerable to being swarmed by smaller 'mechs. Nonetheless, the Grand Kuraltai has its place in battle, but it is not a unit that can properly fill the role of a traditional assault 'mech.
