Cult of the Bloodmoon
From Invasion3042 Wiki
This Faction no longer exists in the game
Descendants of Clan Wolverine.
Formed: May 2007
Disbanded: January 2008
Story: Surviving members of Clan Wolverine found safe haven in the Cult Cluster, mixed with the natives, and thus emerged a new culture and Clan.
This was the top warring Clan when it existed in terms of stats ( BV Killed / BV Lost ). Many attribute their success to their highly controversial technology and tactics. Captured pilots were rarely returned to their respective Clans, or even taken as bondsmen as Cult of the Bloodmoon was a highly religious sect and believed in human sacrifice. The leader of the sect was hailed as a living god, and all subjects worshiped him as one. Their Culture could be said to be a mix of ancient Egyptian and Aztec.

[edit] Cult History
After Clan Wolverine's expulsion from the Clan society it was rumored that a handful of member from the science caste made it out alive. These rumors proved true, and in fact, multiple Dropships ended up evading the Clan Annihilation. A band of science caste Wolverine's discovered a nebula of inhabitable planets and moons, now called the Cult Cluster, but to the Cultists called the Trajin Nebula. On these planets they discovered native humans who spoke a dialect of ancient Egyptian. How these peoples, so far away from Terra, could speak such an ancient Terran language remained a mystery for many years for these first settlers, but it quickly became apparent other forces were at work. These native's, who referred to themselves as Sacrafel, possessed highly honed warrior skills. Eventually, the culture of the Wolverine settlers and the Sacrafel intertwined, making a perfect match... the advanced tech the Wolverine's possessed and the highly competitive warrior nature of the Sacrafel seemed to mix perfect. Slowly, but surely, the Cult of the Bloodmoon began amassing an army, knowing it to be only a matter of time before they were discovered by the Clans or Inner Sphere.
Kraken Guard scout ships were the first to discover the existence of the reformed Clan Wolverine, causing concern among the Grand Council. A meeting was quickly arranged by the Grand Council to decide how to approach this new problem, as by this time ... Cult of the Bloodmoon had amassed a sizable force. The meeting however did not last long, Comstar ... playing the Cult as their Trump card for their sick thirst for universal domination, infiltrated the meetings defenses, and deployed nuclear weapons on the planet the leaders were meeting, leaving no survivors. Cult was quickly blamed for this incident and plans were in the works to carry out the Annihilation of Clan Wolverine that had previously been unsuccessful. Agents from Cult quickly caught on to the scheme however, but had no choice but to attack the Clans before they were attacked themselves. Cult could not make a case against Comstar to the Clans, the Clans wanted them dead regardless ... so they did the only thing they were best at. War. And they did this well... Almost to well. They quickly carved up Clan territory for themselves, capturing Babylon, Eyrie, and Shadow in the blink of an eye. Even Inner sphere holdings were not safe, attacking Nueva Castile and the Ministry of Canopus, it seemed the Cultists were everywhere. Things were going so well, certain Ministry Priests had designs on starting a campaign to over take Strana Mechty, capital of the Clans. Things that go up, must come down however ... Cult leadership was unable to keep the loyalty of it's generals. The thirst for blood had seemingly driven them mad. Cult imploded. Ministry Priests and their subjects fled the Cult Cluster, even the Living God Shaitan disappeared. It would only be a matter of time, with no solid leadership, before Cult would start to suffer military defeats.
It is rumored members from this Clan still exist, however the Clan has since been disbanded.
The first large-scale battle in Invasion 3042 was perpetrated by Cult.
