Located within the Federated Suns, Crofton is home to Starcorps Industries one of the largest and most heavily regulated military industry in the Inner Sphere today. Crofton is currently owned by Clan Snow Raven.

Captured by Clan Widowmaker after negociations for a military staging post broke down, then in early 3061 House Davion lost their foothold on Crofton. Situated on the edge of Inner Sphere, Crofton proved to be an important fleet staging post as it has direct jump routes leading to the Mica Cluster, a primary colony of Clan Ghost Bear. After a diplomatic summit in September 3064, Clan Widowmaker agreed to cede Crofton back to House Davion as their stated objectives against Clan Ghost Bear was compete. The history of Crofton becomes distorted after the summit, but a some point early in 3080 Clan Snow Raven came to control the world.
