Cellular Ammunition Storage Equipment (CASE) is a damage-control technology that mitigates the effects of internal ammunition explosions. If ammo (or any other explosive component, such as a gauss rifle) in a CASE-equipped location explodes, it damages the internal structure in that location. Any excess damage simply dissipates, rather than transferring to an additional internal structure location. Remember that the loss of all internal structure in a side torso location also blows off the corresponding arm, though the arm is not damaged by the explosion and can still be used as a club!

CASE, short for Cellular Ammunition Storage Equipment, is a mech component which is used to prevent ammunition from transferring to vital areas such as the head and center torso. A mech equipped with CASE will still receive damage in the location where the ammunition exploded, but if CASE is also present in that same location the damage will cut off and not transfer into inner areas.
