The Black Wolf (BW-2C) is a 95 ton custom clan assault mech originally specific to Clan Wolf.
The Wolf Clan’s first attempt at creating a second line Assault Class battlemech, the Black Wolf is a devastating close range fighter that punch a hole right through an opponent without hesitation. Although the design can suffer from ammunition shortages in prolonged fighting, the Black Wolf’s array of Class 9 Advanced Tactical Missile Launchers is unmatched even by most front-line omnimechs. Add in a pair of Heavy Assault Lasers, and the Black Wolf is indeed a formidable opponent. One of the lesser-known additions to the Black Wolf is the ECM suite installed next to the communications array in its head. What most people would consider a token element of this design, has in fact been used on several occasions to utterly destroy enemy transmission feeds, rendering their field commanders blind.

The Black Wolf is designed as a jack-of-all-trades, being able to deliver heavy firepower using its large lasers, but being able to hit targets at extreme range due to its ATM launchers, though these regularly suffer from lack of ammo. It is able to punch holes using the Heavy Large Lasers, then saturate the target with constant ATM barrages, ripping up the delicate systems within. This 'mech's main weakness besides its lack of long-range damage, is that despite its great short-range firepower, it overheats very badly, and there have been instances of Black Wolves causing incredible damage to themselves as the extreme heat caused from an alpha strike ignites their ATM magazines, causing a massive explosion inside the machine.
