Invasion Conventions!

If you are going to attend you MUST register! Do so by raising a help ticket, this is very important for catering and venue organisation, and of course your pack of freebies!

Dallas Texas: Sunday the 6th of June is now locked in. If you wish to attend please open a help ticket, this helps me prepare and to make sure you don’t miss out on your free stuff!. The venue to be advised.

Chicago, Saturday 12th June, is now Locked in as well, the venue is in North Chicago at the Westin Hotel, If you wish to attend, please open a help ticket with your details, so I can lock you in.

Just like the previous conventions there is some limited edition 2010 Invasion convention t-shirts to be made, the cost for these is 30 AUD, and you can pick your size. they are full colour and of high quality (just ask those that got the previous ones) If you want one of these t-shirts, Please say so in your convention acceptance help ticket. The last date for T-shirt orders will be the 14th of April.

Thanks to Redneck and his excellent work we now have another 150 different mechs in game, as soon as they have all been troubleshooted their blueprints will be available on the market, they can be viewed on the market page as per any other normal mech.

Tanks & BA BV has now been updated to BV 2, thanks to Vega for his excellent work, so please if you see them in chat thank Vega and Redneck very much for all their work. The changes in BV are listed in the forums under information. Your tanks and BA will have its BA and maint updated over the next few days.

IS/Clan imbalance trial.
As per recent discussions with a lot of people including public forum debate, the admin team have decided to undergo a trail, it is a two step process, and is predominantly focussed around the reduction of clan assault mechs used by all parties.

(just on the trial, as many veterans can attest to, in trails past (example: C-LPL) we have genuinely treated them as trials and have often reverted back or amended the outcome based on the trials results, we would like all players to treat this trial as they have in the past, with an open mind to genuinely attempt to find a solution for a better playing experience for all players)

Step 1. The limiting of piloting/gunnery Skills to be no more than 1 different from each other.
for example, a mech can be 5/4, 4/4 or 4/3 but cannot be 5/3, 5/2 etc
Players can still chose the mech and skill combinations they want but they must be within 1 of each other.
What does this do? It eliminates the vast majority of assault/uber mechs from being too BV efficient, such as 5/3, 6/3, 6/2 NC-A’s for example. These mechs now either pay an extreme BV price, or they reduce their gunnery and effectiveness.
Step2. Arrow will have its +2 nerfing reduced to a +1 Nerfing, this allows arrow to be a marginally more effective weapon, its extreme use is alleviated given that arrow mechs and spotters must be pilot/gun balanced, so no more 5/2 obk’s etc.
This trial is expected to go for several months (to gain an appropriate data picture outcome), and will have its outcome heavily discussed and debated at the Icons in the USA in June.
The missions team is reviewing all missions given some of them are geared around mechs with inappropriate unbalanced skills.

How this will happen:

All players will have their units piloting skills skilled down to match within 1 of their gunnery for free, with No tpoints cost. As this change will affect mech maintenance significantly, all players will have 1 week of Maint free on all mechs, so that they have time to adjust to the new figures.

During this period as players BV and brackets will be blown to smithereens I would expect everyone to have a break from wars and combat until such a time as they and their target are prepared. This part is up to the playerbase, I cannot turn combat off for any period of time given the need for me to test a significant amount of ongoing work. Communication is the key, please do not force me to make judgement calls on player action, i do not have the time for nonsense.

There is only a couple of ongoing operations, these can be cancelled by both parties willingly and i will remove the stat of a loss against attacking the empire (please raise a help ticket if you wish to have your stats fixed after cancelling the operation with the defenders permission).

There is another 10 new research items and production items to be created, all Inner sphere, small cockpits, compact engines and the like.
