New invasion information.

The new invasions are almost ready to go in game, there is a few more final tests to take place, but its looking great thus far, i’d like to thank everyone who is helping me test and debug this code.

However over the last few days there has been a far more serious issue to deal with, Player Cheating. A player has found a loophole and systematically abused it to a scale i have never ever seen before, to a point which has actually harmed and impacted the financial income of the game.

This player has since helped me identify the issue and solve it from happening again, and has shown remorse for his actions. However, the sheer scale of his actions combined with the fact that it has impacted directly and indirectly hundreds of other game players has meant that severe action be taken.

The following punishment has occurred.

The players empire has been deleted and the player banned.

In agreement with his houses leaders, who have cooperated fully, who have proved to me that they also will not stand for this sort of abuse and were just as shocked as i was, I have also fined his house a collective 4 Billion in icash, 2500 ipoints and destroyed 1.6 million BV from their collective armies and inventories.

I would like to thank the house in question’s leadership for being open and honest in these dealings and wanting to make amends for actions that were clearly not of their own doing.

We are deadly serious about how the game is run and how any actions that compromise the games integrity will be dealt with in the harshest possible terms.

If I catch anyone even so much as doing the slightest thing wrong or illegal in any shape manner of form i’m going to delete and ban you, simple, no questions asks, no right of refusal, simple deletion and banning – get it?

If you even so much as think your breaking the rules, exploiting a bug, not reporting a bug, know of anyone who is exploiting as bug or being a schmuck, im going to come down on you like a ton of bricks, end of story.

Fixed a bug in relation to turret mounted weapons not firing in the rear arc.

Fixed an issue whereby players were jumping BA into water and making them invulnerable, again wasted significant amount of time working on an issue where a player was not playing within the spirit of the game by making units virtually unkillable, we’ve been through this whole don’t kill a unit so the battle times out rubbish, so why start another round of it?

Empty faction takeovers, I’ve been concerned for some time about how players get friends or whatever to takeover empty factions just so they can move planets around, this no longer will be acceptable, to take over an empty faction you must have played the game for a minimum of 12 RL months been active in chat and prove to me that you have the best intentions for your faction.


New invasion options.

There are some neat features in the new invasion options:
1. A sortable military grid for your troops.
2. A real life time calculator, so you can see in exactly how many RL hours a battle will start.
3. As troops come from the dropship for the attacker, and anywhere on the sector for the defender moving troops around is no longer an issue for housemates.
4. Organised battles, battles are organised at a time and place of players choosing.
5. No surprise battles / attacks on AI when people are sleeping.
6. No guesses when the attacker will start his first battle
7. Reasonable battle sizes, no bracket micromanagement.
8. Full access for FL and 2IC as well as attacker/defender

Id like to encourage players who have not read the new invasion method thread in the forums to please do so, in particular there is a spreadsheet that shows battle sizes based on the defenders BV in their sector.
