This was mentioned by Arlo in IRC today, and I think its a good suggestion.
I am not sure how hard it is to code this, but can there be missions exactly the same at pirate raids. IE 5k, 10K, 20k, and so on.
Rewards would be the exact warpoints of the mechs killed and salvage nothing more. This raids would act like the same pirate raids with the exception of not hitting the LZ at first.
Initial setup would be that when you hit the mission launch page, there will be 10 slots for every 5k that can be filled up with every thing from infantry, tanks, mechs what have you. Each slot would be listed at 1 - 5000. Before mission can be launched, the game will check to see if this is an all IS force or not. If not then Total BV must not exceed the Raid limit of the raid. IE your raiding a 5k pirates mission. Max you can bring is 5k BV. If you brought an all IS force, you can bring 5500 bv.
The pirate mechs in the mission can be populated with the same formula that is currently used to populate the pirate planet. This way the mission would have constant change and can show a branching out of the standard, must kill x mechs of this type mission.
I will also post this in general forums.
Remember, this was Arlos suggestion.
